Mac pro paint pot shadow groundwork5/4/2023 ![]() Finally, a concealer (that isn’t a concealer), that doesn’t make pores look even bigger or praise be, settle into them! Now, this is everything to me! It’s great at covering up enlarged pores around the nose, pat it on and they literally disappear in front of your eyes. The skin tone shade allows you to use your liner to even up your lips and help lock in lipstick. I also pat it around my lips to prep them for lip liner and slightly fill in vertical lines. But I have seem some reviewers say a damp Beauty Blender type sponge works well too, so I’ll try that next. Because it is so creamy (but not overly soft), I’ve found it’s best applied with clean fingertips rather than a brush. You need only the tiniest amount to conceal. I have a few broken veins on my cheeks from rosacea and a fair bit of redness there too, Painterly covers them up like magic. I tried it first on the dark inner corners of my eyes and yes, it was fine, but not as good as Bobbi Brown Corrector and Too Faced Concealer. Old make up techniques and accessories are reinvented, given fancy new names and updated as the latest big thing eg using powder to set your make up is now baking, and shaped foam sponges are now Beauty Blenders. After a bit of Googling, I discovered it was first used as a concealer way back in 2010. A flattering nude beige that’s polished looking, never bland.Ĭontrary to what you might believe, using Painterly as a concealer is actually not a new idea. I wouldn’t normally recommend putting eyeshadow on your face, but Paint Pot hasn’t caused my skin to break out, it doesn’t oxidize ie change colour (essential for a concealer), doesn’t cake up or settle in pores (the opposite in fact).Īlthough it has a faint sheen in the pot, once applied it’s very definitely matt. Will not streak or crease.Īs a standalone eyeshadow, eyelid primer or base for other shades, it’s perfect and exactly what I was looking for.īut everything covered under the bullet points above also make it an ideal candidate as a ‘safe to use on your face’ concealer. Seamless, buildable coverage without looking heavy or cakey. I bought Pro Longwear Paint Pot in shade Painterly, because I was looking for a neutral lid shade, and I was intrigued by a flurry of Pinterest posts calling Painterly the best concealer that wasn’t really a concealer.Ī highly pigmented, long-wearing eye shadow that goes on creamy and dries to an intense, vibrant finish. I didn’t bother again, not that I could ever master lining my eyes with a brush anyway. It dried out within a week, even though I followed the sales assistant’s instructions to the letter and replaced the lid as soon as I loaded my eyeliner brush. I was put off by their gel eyeliner (also housed in a glass pot). The links in the post are affiliates, which means I get a small percentage from the sales if you use my link.I’ve never owned a Mac Paint Pot, even though they’ve been around for donkey’s years and are considered a bit of a cult classic. I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question. I’m so happy to have it in my collection. If you are looking for something quick to use daily you’ll love it. I like that I can use it alone or as a base. It’s insanely easy to use, very pretty and long-lasting. I’ve also tried to use it as a base for powder eyeshadow and it lasted 8 hours on me. WITH Primer: This shadow with a primer lasted about 12 hours.I have extremely oily lids so I was quite impressed. WITHOUT Primer: This shadow lasted for 8 hours on me before starting to crease.Even with cream shadows but I feel like most people would want to use it without. I always have to wear an eye primer or my make up won’t last a minute. I like that you can use it alone as well as a base for other eyeshadows. You have time to move it around but once it sets, you won’t be able to move it. It’s easy to apply and blend with a finger. It’s is quite sheer but I like the effect, makes it perfect for everyday wear. The formula is very creamy. The colour is luminous but not shimmer and it’s not patchy or chunky at all, despite the matt base. The packaging is a classic MAC pot which is made out of glass. The shade name is on the back. The shade I have is a pale matte pink with gold shimmer. I also had a 20% discount which never hurts. I love me a cream shadow and MAC has recently reformulated their Paint Pots adding some new shades to the range so I thought what better moment to try them? Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the shade Let ‘s Skate.
